But Rusty, you ask, what has all that to do with real estate? Well, for the last 10 years of our sojourn in the desert, Deb and I spent a portion of every vacation searching for a home in Colorado and for investment property elsewhere. It was almost like purchasing a home to retire to but then changing our minds…
I wasn’t born in Colorado, but I got here as soon as I could. I was born in Huntsville, Alabama, (Roll Tide!) and spent the youngest years of my life there and in other southern towns, big and small. Then, after four years of repairing communications computers in the missile silos of northern Arkansas with the Air Force and seven years repairing mainframe computers with Digital Equipment Corporation, I happened to land a job with an oil company in the Middle East. That is where I met my wife, Deb, and where my two sons, Sean and Skyler, were born. So, after what seemed like a lifetime (27 years) in the desert, I decided it was time to retire and move to the mountains.
But Rusty, you ask, what has all that to do with real estate? Well, for the last 10 years of our sojourn in the desert, Deb and I spent a portion of every vacation searching for a home in Colorado and for investment property elsewhere. It was almost like purchasing a home to retire to but then changing our minds and looking for another became a second job. We learned about the field of real estate by living it. We’ve been that couple who has spent hundreds of valuable off-work hours at the mercy of a broker looking at what felt to be thousands of almost right homes. We’ve listed homes that sold in a weekend, and homes that went on and off the market for months. We’ve experienced what works and what doesn’t. We have sat at more closing tables than we care to think. Not as brokers, but as buyers and sellers, just like you. Deb and I became real estate brokers so that we can share our knowledge and experience to the benefit of others looking for a steady hand and empathetic ear to guide them through the process. I also have a degree in accounting which comes in handy more often than you might think. So, the next time you decide to buy or sell, look us up, we can help you make that move.
Testimonials:
When Rusty first told me he had decided to become a real estate agent, my first words to him were, “Well, it’s about time.” I’ve known Rusty for a long time and I can’t count the number of stories he told me about his house hunting, buying, and selling adventures. When it’s time to sell my house, he’s the guy I’ll call. - Roger R.
I’ve worked with Rusty on projects that would have taken twice as long had they been assigned to any three other individuals. His attention to detail and perseverance at working through difficult circumstances are unmatched. I can’t recommend him enough. - Larry J.
I have known Rusty for over a quarter of a century. He is very personable and a good communicator that not only hears, he listens. His knowledge of real estate is honed from his personal dealings with estate agents across multiple states. Assessing a property to meet the needs of a client would be second nature to him. I am confident that Rusty will hear the needs of his client. He will dedicate his time and resources to fulfill the client’s requirements to a satisfactory solution. – Isaac L.
