Prior to obtaining his real estate license in 1980, Pres Montoya worked with troubled youth in Weld County, demonstrating his lifelong passion for helping underserved communities. When he became a Realtor, his clients often included judges, lawyers, and social workers—people also dedicated to helping others. Pres quickly gained recognition as a top Realtor in Greeley and was offered a partner/agent position with Coldwell Banker The Team, which was honored as one of the top Coldwell Banker offices in the country for per-agent production.

Real estate has given Pres the opportunity to continue his community service and volunteer work. He was elected to serve two 4-year terms on the Greeley-Evans School Board. During that time, he was one of the founders of the Greeley Dream Team, a non-profit supporting students in pursuing higher education. The Dream Team recently celebrated over 30 years of success, impacting hundreds of students.
Pres used his entrepreneurial skills to co-create the “Cumbres” program with other UNC alums at the University of Northern Colorado. This program has been in existence for over 15 years, graduating hundreds of Hispanic students who have become teachers and change agents in our education system. Pres was recognized as an educational leader and was appointed by Governor Owens to the Colorado Commission of Higher Education (CCHE). After completing his term on the CCHE, he was appointed to the Colorado Real Estate Commission by Governor Bill Ritter, where he helped create policies to protect real estate consumers in Colorado.
For the past 7 years, Pres has dedicated his time to Jobs of Hope, a local non-profit helping gang-involved and formerly incarcerated men get back on their feet. Today, the program is thriving and recently opened the “House of Hope,” which serves up to 14 men who were homeless upon their release from jail.
Family is of utmost importance to Pres. He has been married to Diane for 14 years, and together they have 5 children and 2 grandchildren in California and Colorado.
The granddaughter he once cared for is now his real estate partner, forming The Montoya Aragon Team. Together, they follow the three C’s: Character, Culture, and Commitment.

"When I came to the University of Northern Colorado for a job interview, I met Pres, who was responsible for showing me around the Greeley area. Not only did he give me a tour, but he also convinced me of how wonderful Greeley is. When I was offered a faculty position, the decision to accept was easy. Moving from California was challenging, but Pres and Diane made the transition smoother by warmly welcoming us. After seven years, I can confidently say that we are good friends."

“I met Pres in 1985 when he was a member of the Greeley/Evans School Board. I was very impressed with his professionalism and commitment to the students. When I was ready to buy a house in 1982, Pres was my choice. Later, when I needed to sell my house in 2024, Pres was again my first choice. He has been my real estate agent throughout, and all my transactions have been smooth and trouble-free. Thanks to Pres, I was able to move to Georgia to be with my family.”

“Pres Montoya was recommended to us when we were looking for a home in Greeley, CO. We had moved to Louisiana in July 2020 from California to be near our daughter and her family. When her husband decided to change professions, we ended up following them to Greeley. At that time, Pres was mentoring Rohanna, who joined him in showing us around Greeley. Not only were they professional and well-versed in all the ins and outs of buying a home, but they also became friends and truly cared about our home-buying experience. Even after the home had closed and their job was technically finished, both Pres and Rohanna continued to be supportive. They were available whenever we had questions or needed recommendations, as we were new to the area. We have now lived in our home for almost a year. It has been a great experience, and we truly appreciate all the help we received along the way."

“We are counselors, and David specializes in substance abuse. David met Pres when Pres was volunteering with Jobs of Hope, a program that helps men who have been incarcerated. Pres helped create the House of Hope, which houses up to 14 men. Seeing Pres's commitment, David began working with the men. Today, David is the substance abuse counselor for Jobs of Hope. When we were ready to buy our first home, there was no question that Pres would be our agent. It took a year of his advice, and we closed in 2024 with no issues.”
